mosaic mission tile floors

In the past I have mentioned that we used Mission tile floors in our house in San Miguel de Allende. I finally found the information and will pass it on to you. We bought them from Mosaicos de Designo in San Luis Potosi. Av. Salvador Nava Martinez 3253. Tel. fax 91 (48) 17 39 29 Elvia C. Barrios De Stevens The card says Restoration for old mosaic floors and materials for construction. These are the concrete-marble dust floors with a design in them - often seen in churches and turn of the 19th century houses. Often they look like oriental rugs embedded in a tile floor. They last for ever and a tile can be made of up to 5 colors. The legend is the Vatican invented them when they were having a mission building boom and couldn't make travertine fast enough. There probably are other companies that make them and if you of know them- pass it on.
