I can find non-selective garden herbicides in the Lakeside area, like Gramaxone, but but not selective ones. Does anyone know where I can buy grass-specific herbicide, and one the prevents seed germination? And what are they called here? It is very hard to weed in our cactus garden and among the crown of thorns.

Margo - I tried to buy systemic type rose food, not the same as your herbicide, I know, but the nice girl at the Garden Store, Laura, told me they are illegal in Mexico - so it might by the same with the non-selective herbicide. If you haven't been to see her in her new location, next to the 7-11 in Riberas, you might stop by and ask her.

Yes I had the same answer from her. My hopes were raised by a gardening column by John Worthinton (I think), but I can't find him now to ask him where he gets the selective herbicides he recommended.
