Anyone know the Spanish term for this "drive strap", and whether it can be found at a ferreteria without too much trouble?

It's used for attaching pipe or rigid conduit to a block wall.

Since the picture shown in this case is quite a bit smaller than the real thing, I would take along an actual size picture and call it un clave ganchudo (or un clave como gancho) para sostener los tubos.

Greetings. The word, ' clave,' is used on different meaning and, it is a female word. So the correct way would be, ' una clave ganchuda'. Gerry Zaragemca

Maz, If the poster was using it for 1/2" conduit that would be a perfect picture....

To the OP, Rollyb's website has a lexicon of building supplies, maybe it is in there..............
