Has anyone ever heard of being charged additional fee for buying two lots adjacent to each other in a subdivision? Is this Mexican logic?? or law?? Are the permits to buy land based on the price of the land?

No the permit would be per address but no extra charge.

The extra charge is from the developer for buying 2 lots together. PorQue? Is the price of the permit based on the price of the lot.? What is the range of prices to pay the notario for a power of attorney.?

Because he sees an opportunity to make some extra money.

The rules vary from one city to another.

What is the range of prices to pay the notario for a power of attorney.?

The charges vary from one notario to another, and they vary by city, too.

You need to make local inquires. Or at least tell us where you are buying; maybe then someone will know the local rules and customs.

I've bought three things here and the price of the permit has been the same regardless of price of the property.

If the developer is also building homes in the development, he may be thinking that if he sells you an extra lot, you may use it as yard, and he would then not make a profit by building a house on the second lot.

If he is not a builder... he is probably charging you for the convenience of owning two lots next to each other... in other words... because he can.
