Waterstops

This is a broad term, everyone here in Puerto Vallarta is scrambling around getting to test their latest theory o what is going to work for the upcoming monsoon season. A country which is extremely close in 'masonry' history is Australia, more so than the U.S.A. Here is a company, one of many, who sell waterstops which expand when they detect water - perfect in an either completely dry, or completely wet environment.

Freight from Australia is not completely over the top either.

This seems to be a product that is installed as the building ( walls) are being built..what good does it do after the rains come and you detect a leak?
