Solar Heating

Can't Post |
Has anyone used solar heating heating in their house? How about hot water? If so let me know all the particulars please. It seems to me that most of Mexico has an abundance of sunshine.

I'm anxious to hear what is said, Mexico seems like such an obvious place for 1970's style low tec solar solutions.

Let me offer a conjecture on why solar heating has not caught on in Mexico -- the cost. The majority, perhaps a large majority, of the people cannot afford the installation; perhaps not even the cost of operating the recirculation pump. Those who could afford to have their homes retrofitted, could even more easily continue to heat with propane or even electricity.

I think the solar water heater is a much more likely use of solar energy.
