My husband and I just moved to Ajijic to the house we bought 14 months ago and discovered that the last tenant had the master bedroom, including the beautiful boveda ceiling, painted white!!! Besides strangling the tenant (which won't help the ceiling), does anyone know of a method to remove the paint from the bricks without destroying them? We had one contractor take a look and said he could remove the paint for $4000 pesos, but the ceiling would not look the same.
