Off the grid

Hello, I'm buying a property that has no electric service and is miles from any power lines. We will be using a generator (on loan) at first. I'm looking into solar and micro-hydro. The place is about 2 hours from Guadalajara near Colima City. Does anyone know of equipment suppliers in Guad., Cd. Guzman, or Colima?

I will be going to the "Real Goods" center and Sierra Solar - both in No. Alta California but wanted to know if there are resources near my new home.

Sorry I won't be there for the conference Jan 31st.

I don't know a thing about any of your questions, but I will be all ears in hopes that you will report regularily on the progress - with ins and outs.

Good luck with your dream-building. It is always great to hear that there are still people who have dreams.

Mexico is such a country of habit. I hope some locals look over your should and copy the affordable stuff.

For water pumping without electricity, you should check out these RAM pumps.

You might try a similar post on the Technical forum on Mexconnect. I believe Mr. Peterson there has a generator backup and may be able to help. Buena Suerte...Dutch
