This is a slab of cedar, common in the Hill Country of TX that I bought for less than $5 and sanded it smooth preserving the original shape and edge texture. I used tung oil and recoated it about twice a year. It's a bit heavy and definitely has an odor, but gives a nice finish. I used to live near Picayune, MS, the town was "owned" by the Thigpen family whose claim to riches was tung nuts and the oil they produce, but I've not seen it down here. http://chapalaweather.net/mantle.jpg http://www.chapalaweather.net
