IT'S DONE!!!!! well, almost

After 17 months, the construction is done -- which is not to say that everything is finished, but almost.

The first family moved in today (28 June). And so MexConnect's longest running serial ends -- almost, there will be a grand opening party page later.

I like to say thanks to my many regular readers and for the posts and e-mails of support you have sent. This is the end of this story, but there will be another starting in a couple of months. Stay tuned.

This week's pictures are at http://www.rollybrook.com/06-28-03.htm

So long until next time.

NOOOOOOoooooo!

Let me be the first of what I expect is many to say how much I enjoyed your telling of the story. Thanks once again for your efforts in sharing it, and please extend my congratulations and best wishes to the Valdepeñas families with their new homes.

I'm really going to miss the weekly ongoing saga of construction - it's been a fun trip- take a big pat on the back for one and all for work well done. Looking forward to the next project.

It's bound to be a classic - a conscious Henry David Thoreau style accounting of a homebuilding done by someone with enough age and experience to give it some universality. You deserve a great deal of credit.

What can I say, it can't be over. It just can't be.

Oh well, I guess we will just have to wait until you start your fall remodel.

Que milagro! I suppose, like any telenovela, it must end. But don't forget the saying "When you stop building, you die." You will give us the blow-by-blow of the renovation of the next property come fall, no?

Rolly, be careful!

Don't let all of these accolades go to your head. You spent as much time in Hollywood as I, and you know that you're only as good as your last performance. The critics/fans/sharks will turn on you in a nanosecond if your September remodel isn't a smash hit also.

Seriously...........nice job!

What I really enjoyed, having been involved with construction in Mexico myself, was the REALITY that you brought forth about building in Mexico. I think it's also important to note that you did your project with close family and friends. Having people you could trust makes all the difference in the world. Put that together with your constant perserverance and patience, you achieved your goal with success. That is exactly what it takes to build or remodel in Mexico. Thanks and good luck with your next project!

I'm going to miss learning what cement blocks and plumbing fixtures cost! And the vocabulary! I guess I'll have to refer to the archives. Congrats!

Oh, Rolly, it's NOT done until the last decorating item is finished! We want MORE. I want to see how this looks all finished, furnished, and "tarted up." I want to see photos of the housewarming party! Don't let this end yet!
