House Project Update for 09 Nov 02

This week we got the roof drains done on the south building and got started on the drains for the north building. We have almost all the parapets done.

The air conditioning ducts were installed in the south building.

Plaster starts in the south buiding next week.

We also visitors this week. MexConnecter Howard Mills and a traveling buddy stopped by to see the project and join us for our Saturday afternoon party. They're off on a fine trip around Mexico in a motor home.

I don't pick the beer; the guys do. We buy half Corona and half Victoria. I like the Corona in the small clear bottles; I don't like the Corona in the large dark brown bottles. The guys say it's all the same, but by taste buds say it's not. ¿Quén sabe? Anyway, I'm really a Tequila guy.

Monday update: The plaster guys have started. What a mess!

Yesterday, Sunday, a couple of the guys and I spend the day taking 5 pickup loads of our left over gravel to fill in the axel-breaker holes in the street to my house (where I live, not the one we're building). We only had enough gravel to fix the worst holes; there are plenty more for another day. We also dug up a few big rocks and cut down half of the thorn tree growing in the middle of the street. Almost all the neighbors where out watching and thanking us. But nobody offered us a beer.

A new experience maintaining our own city street. Welcome to México.

Hi Rolly, I am back home now. Mike & I would like to thank you & your crew for your gracious hospitality. We really enjoyed our visit. We traveled almost 2000 mi.in Mexico and saw some beautiful sites. We hope to make another trip soon. BTW the Plastering L@@KS great. Thanks again. Howard
