Heavy spider population year

Is it my imagination or is this fall tending to be a heavy spider population year here in Mexico. I know that here in Queretaro, it appears that the spiders are coming in droves to make their webs and babies by the barrel full. Most of what I speak, seem to be spiders building outside of the home webs. I wonder if the fairly wet season we have had this year has anything to do with it. It also seems to be a bit colder than usual for this time of the year. Maybe we are on a cycle of some kind. I sure hope I am not correct.

If I had a dollar for every spider and ant at my place I could refinance the entire US debt. Today I was up on the roof working on the weather instruments and the old backup system anemometer wasn't spinning freely, took it off and a spider had build a nice dry home up inside the cap, only problem was when the breeze blew he was living in a merry-go-round - so I put him out of his misery.
