Barbara, thank you for bringing this project back into view. It is so sad. Read here for an update on the problems: http://www.islabuild.com/february04.htm Building in Mexico, or anywhere else, is very, very risky if you are not on the scene all the time. Even on my projects where I was there every day, some screw ups happened. Of course, nothing like what happen to these good folks. Here are three simple rules for building: If you are not there to watch all the time, don't expect things to turn out as you want. Don't advance money beyond immediate needs. Paying for a project up front will surely leave you stranded later on. As an outsider you are not in a position to judge a man's abilities or character.
