Building Project Update for 6 December 2003

This week we got a lot done. The stairs are tiled and painted. All the outside stucco patches are done and painted. The plaster guys finished the ceiling in the down stairs bathroom, so we began the tile work. This room will be all tile except for the ceiling. All the electrical rough-in is done.

No pictures this week. I hope to have a good progress page next week. The cost page has been updated. The money is flowing freely -- US$24,000 thus far.

We had some had some bad news this week. Our trash hauler, who has been taking away our construction debris in a home-made wagon pulled by a pair of burros, stopped by to say that he can't haul for us anymore because one of his burros died. The load is too heavy for the remaining burro to pull.

......how much does a new burro cost? You might consider it as an advance investment on other projects.

Me thinks a new burro would be a rather long-term investment :-) Perhaps a used burro would bring more immediate results. At P$100 per load, it would take more trash than we will generate to pay it off. Although I haven't got a clue what a used burro would cost. I read the want ads in the local paper, but I have never seen a burro listed. Now you have me wondering about the price. I feel a song coming on: "How much is that burro in the window?"

Anyway, there ain't gonna be no more projects. I need to get back to my retirement so I can work on my grammar.
