Building Project Update for 19 April 2003

This was a short week. No work on Friday and Saturday for the Easter holidays.
The floor tile is complete and grouted in 3 of the 4 units. Iniz completed the kitchen counter tile in Martha's house. He'll begin the floor tile for Coco next week.
Rosa changed her mind about the kitchen tile in her house, so we went back to the tile store to exchange the tile. No problem with the exchange.
Jesus installed the bathroom cabinets in Rosa's house -- two weeks later than promised.
The door maker is painting 9 doors today (Saturday) for Rosa's and Martha's houses. He promises to install on Monday -- also two weeks later than promised.
Enrique and I promised the folks that we would have the project ready for move-in (except for cabinetry and maybe bathroom tile and a lot of little things) by the end of May. I don't like this idea of occupancy before the project is finished, but we are sort of in a bind. The ladies, bless them, without asking decided last month that the houses were almost ready, so they gave notice to their landlords that they would be moving at the end of April. Now they have told the landlords it will be the end of May. All three of the landlords are upset because they have new tenants lined up. Damn!
