Building Project Update for 12 April 2003

More of the same this week. Laying floor tile, spreading grout, cleaning up the mess, painting, electrical. We have completed the floor tile in 3 of the 4 units. Next week we will begin kitchen counter tile. We are skipping the floor tile in Coco’s house for the moment because we are still using his place as a staging area.

The bulldozer man came with a big truck and cleaned the neighbor’s lot that we have been using for storing sand, gravel and trash for the past year. We white-washed his side of our property wall to make it look better.

Enrique has been talking with some of the neighbors. Some like our colors, some don't. One man said they were kindergarden colors -- what ever that means.

Enrique began building the hand rails for the stairs and the guard rails for the balconies. He also installed the window screens for Martha's house.

We went to Home Mart to buy blinds for the windows. While we were there, we found some wooden molding on sale that we can use for the chair rails in the family room. I had been planning to use tile trim pieces because wooden molding is so expensive, but this sale price was less than the tile would cost.

I did not make a picture page this week because there is nothing new to see. I did update the cost page for those who are interested in tracking the costs.
