Building Project Update for 11 October 2003

All the shell construction and rough-ins are finished for the upstairs, The plaster man starts work on Monday. The roof sealing team has completed the first of the 5 layers of sealing on the roof at Casa Vieja and at my house.

I got into an argument with Doņa Martha. Friday night I found out that she wants to cut down half the trees around her house. She says they make too much mess. I think the real reason is because wants to show off her 'new' house. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool tree hugger, so I am aghast that she would want to cut down those nice shade trees. The dastardly deed was scheduled for Saturday, but I managed to get a short delay while I work on her.

Hi Rolly,

I enjoyed reading and viewing Dona Martha making enchiladas estilo Durango. I also put in my two cents so she doesn't assasinate the beautiful trees.

She has agreeded to let the trees stay -- at least for now. I think she'll forget about it.

Rolly,

Since she says they make too much mess, maybe that is the thing to "fix". Are their adolescents who can be encouraged to rake up the mess on a regular basis? Just an idea.

I enjoy your posts, especially the building updates and the cooking. Your site is very helpful.
