Crossing at Laredo heading to Mazatlan by way of Durango. Travel time between Monterrey and Gomez Palacio, also between Gomez and Durango. Best places to stay and places to eat. Any help will be appreciated and thanks. We have been studying this forum section for information.

Monterrey to Gomez Palacio is about 4 hours via the toll road. God only knows how long on the free road.
I assume you will drive through to Durango from Monterrey. If you want to over-night in Torreón (where the toll road dumps you off) or in Gomez, you’ll find many motels along the highway, or you can venture into the down town of either city, but it’s not always easy to find your way back to the toll road. You might have to hire a taxi to lead you. (I live in the area.)
Gomez to Durango is about 5 hours on the toll road. If you take the free, write when you get there.
Do a Google search for hotels/motels in Durango. Also check some other posts about Durango on this board.
Be sure to plan your trip so that you leave Durango in the morning (fairly early) so you will be down out the mountains before the afternoon sun gets in your eyes. The drive down to the coast from Durango is one of the greatest sights in Mexico, but you don't want to cope with the mountain road with the sun in your eyes.

I hit the wrong key - time from Monterrey to Gomez Palacio should be 5 hours.
