I just wanted to say that I recently drove from Houston to San Miguel de Allende and then to Patzcuaro and other Micoachan cities with not even a military check point stop. We saw some military presence in Morelia but nothing unusual. Please do not be afraid to travel in Mexico. It is a beautiful country to be explored. All tourism related businesses are being hurt badly by the bad press. We felt completely safe.
