driving without FM3 with you

Hi, hey often out of fear of losing it, I don't actually carry my FM3 with me in my car. If were to be stopped, would I be in trouble? -Do you have to have it ON you? Because otherwise my car will appear very illegal!! Thanks, peter

When I am in my home area, I carry a copy of my FM3 and car papers. When I am out on the road, I carry the real thing. I have been stopped 4 times and never have been asked for papers. But if one is involved in an accident, the question might come up. I also use a Mexican driver's license.

I never carry my FM3 or my passport. On your vehicle importation permit it lists, at least on mine, right next to the permit number, FM3. I always have my driver's license with me. I have been stopped many times, and never had a problem. However, Rolly's advice is sound, too.<p>: When I am in my home area, I carry a copy of my FM3 and car papers.
