We are thinking of making a day trip to Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco and are wondering if there are any things/sights we should not miss?

Thanks!
Willie

Guess it depends where you are coming from for places along the way. Ciudad Guzman has a nice plaza and church but didn't see much more. I would try to include Sayula, a few places along the free #54 road ... or Mazamitla

Yep ... either direction is doable in a day with an early start

Thanks for the suggestions.....we are coming from Comala & so can do it easily. We were going to go to Guzman for breakfast (if there is enough of interest to see there) & then Tapalpa for lunch & maybe stop in Sayula on the way home, if time allows. Later another day trip to Mazamitla & the San Jose de Gracia to find the fellow that is so famous for the green pineapples, etc. & listed in the Banamex book of Grandes Maestros de Artes Popular de Mexico.

Rockydog - don't forget the Feria Maestros del Arte in Chapala 12/13/14th November at the Club de Yates on Ramon Corona next to the waterfront restaurants. It's going to be a great show. For a list of this years artists see here:

Coming from Comala I suggest the back way to Mazamitla more or less via Tuxpan. Take the first exit after the canyons just before you hit the flats. Beautiful valley with sugar cane mills and 4-5 small towns .... then up into the pines and you come out on the lower side of Mazamitla
