bringing prescriptions back across the border

Can't Post |
I'm headed down to Nvo. Progreso this weekend to get some prescriptions and need to know if anyone knows the law for bringing them back across the border. I've heard that it's 90 pills per person per prescription. Does this mean that I can get endless different prescriptions as long as it's only 90 of each? Or may I only buy one prescription of 90 pills? If I'm caught bringing more than I'm supposed to bring back, does anyone know if there's a fine or what kind of punishment goes along with this? I don't want to get myself or my friends in trouble.
BoneDoggie

Dumb sailor story

can't help with your question but ....
you reminded me of when I was 19 and in the Navy in San Diego (long time ago 60's). Our ship was in the yards in Long Beach but we rented a house in the beach in SD. We used to hitchhike back for long weekends. This guy in a little sports car picked me up right outside the base and was going to TJ. Said he would drop me off right at my place and wondered if I wanted to hit TJ with him. It turned out he was making a drug run (big bottle of crisscross) and stuffed them under MY seat before we went back through the border (nice guy). Sure enough we were pulled over but they only went through the trunk and glovebox.
I never realized the possible consequences till years later. Think my life could have been a little different? Dishonorable, possible jail time ..... they were harsh back then (maybe now).

There is some info at this site
seniorhealth.about.com/library/drugs/blmexico.htm?once=true&
it's been awhile since I read the info there but I think there is a link to the U.S.Customs site also. I'll try to use the url link below but it might not work. I'm new at this. It's at about.com

You should have a copy of prescription from US for each (although you might be able to get by with just the labeled bottle). This is for re-entry into the US. You will not be able to buy any controlled medicines in Mexico even with a US prescription.

controlled meds?

Just like Canada, Mexico has different rules than the States. Many farmacias in Mexico will go further and prescribe for you on the spot ...
So what controlled meds did you mean.
