bringing a car to mexico

Can't Post |
hi,
I would like to drive my car from Nogales to Guadalajara. I undertsand that I should have no problem with a notarized letter from the lienholder, a driver's license, the cars's registration, and my birth certificate. I only hestitate because in 1995 I drove my car to Guadalajara and can't recall exactly if I returned the paperwork and decal. Is this procedure automatically done when driving out of Mexico and crossing back to US? Did I need to return it to the car permit place? I don't having any proof or documentation of doing that. Does someone know what will happen when I try to a get a new permit? It was in 1995. If I had to, I suppose I could get proof that the car was indeed returned to the states within the allowed time. Does anyone know if I need to do that? Thankyou.
