best route from Guadalajara Airport to Colima?

Hi,
Does anyone have advice for driving from Colima City (Manzanillo, etc.) to the airport in Guadalajara? I would greatly appreciate some! "Easiest" route is best.

Take the toll road from Colima, Colima direct to Guadalajara. Once you go through the last toll booth at Acatlan stay on that road and continue on toward Guadalajara.. After you pass Walmart and Sams on the right keep going about a mile or two and keep and eye for the sign that says Chapala. Exit right to that road, Keep on that road until you see another sign that say Chapala. Turn right at that exit and stay on that road until you reach the airport. Airport will be on your right side.

Thanks very much for the route advice. I didn't end up going that way, because at the last minute a friend needed a ride to Jocotepec on the west end of Laguna de Chapala. We took the cuota to Rt. 15 (obscure exit after the toll booth), stopped to drop off in Jocotepec, then went on to Chapala and up to the airport on Route 44. This was pretty easy and took just over 3 hours coming back; on the way we got behind large farm machinery west of Ajijic and took more time. It was also very scenic.

Another person I spoke with, a Colima local, insisted that the best route to the airport is through Tlajomulco and San Miquel Cuyutlan, past Laguna Cajititlan - she has driven it several times. A second person also took this route recently and said that the road is pretty good and they would also recommend it. I admit that I have gotten bogged down twice recently in Guadalajara (going north and south) and I like the idea of avoiding the city completely.

Last time we took the Tlajamulco/Cajititlan road, the surface was bad - if it has been improved that would definitely be the way to get to the airport while avoiding Guadalajara.

There are also many topes on that route through Tlajamulco/Cajititlan.
