Viva Aerobus

I did a search, but only came up with a couple of old threads, none of which included a post relating having taken an actual flight on Viva Aerobus.

Has anyone flown this thing? They have some VERY attractive fares between GDL and a couple of desirable airports within Mexico. I'm thinking about a little November getaway.

Thanks!

I flew from Villahermosa to Monterrey about a year ago on Viva Aerobus. At the time all flights went through Monterrey (my final destination was Leon). It was perfectly fine and the fare was good. When I have done recent searches, the fares have not included any taxes or fees-- so even if the "fare" was 1 peso, the final price has always been almost the same as any airline. This has made a trip through Monterrey no great deal for me. If the schedule and route suits you--they were as good as any airline based on my one flight. (I heard through an acquiaintance--never confirmed this--that they are prone to cancel flights at the last minute if not enough seats are sold.)

Thanks. Yes, I was looking at the prices on their website and my eyes started to cross the fares were low. Of course they don't include the taxes/fees. Even so, they've initiated new service between Guadalajara and a couple of places I've always wanted to go, plus they're running discounts in November.

Right now, for example, I can buy a ticket roundtrip to Los Mochis for just $928 MXP, all taxes and fees included. Or Veracruz for $822 MXP. I'm thinking the Copper Canyon, as I'll be traveling solo and that would be a fun place on my own. Worse case scenario.....they cancel the flight, I go home and change the cold-weather clothes for warm weather stuff, and head the other direction.

The airport is only 30 minutes from our front door.
