Texas insurance

Since I always leave my car parked on the Texas border before going to Mexico, I buy thirty day policies using Texas insurance all the time. I do have a permanent Texas address, however.
However, none of these policies, that I am aware of, cover your car in Mexico. State Farm used to cover cars in Mexico that are within the twenty kilometer limit of the border, but I'm not sure if they do anymore.
Therefore, what U.S. plates you have should not make any difference in the coverage that you will get for your car in Mexico.
You might check with Sanborn's Insurance. I buy all of my Texas insurance through their agency in Hidalgo, Texas, which is right across the border from Reynosa, Mexico. Their number is: 956-843-8747. Or you might try sending them an e-mail at sales@dalomic.com.
: I was wondering if anyone know anything about the 30 day insurance policies that are offered in Texas. : Also, can I use one of these policy to get Texas plates if I do not have a address in Texas?
: I am from Massachusetts and here you need a permanent residence to get Mass. plates. You also must have a Mass. insurance policy to have the plates (as soon as you cancel it you must return the plates to the Registry.) Therefore, if I register the car in Mass. I will be stuck having to pay for an insurance policy that does not even cover me in Mexico. Furthermore, the insurance company may even cancel the plan if they find out that the car is in Mexico for over a certain period of time.
: I'm not sure things are so complicated in Texas where there are so many people crossing the border everyday. I'm sure the insurance companies there are much more used to dealing with this.
: I'm just not sure I can register my car there without being a resident. I did buy the car in Texas, however, and the original title is from there.
: If anyone could answer any of these questions I would appreciate it. : Thanks for the help!
