Walk to all the churches

: I don't know what happened to my last post about this, but, oh well.
Ditto the above. I LOVE TAXCO. We treated our Mexican friends to 3-days, 2-nights there for staying with them a couple of weeks and allowing our daughter to stay with them a month. They and we loved the beauty of the town on the mountainsides. We stayed at a hotel katycornered (sp?) from the main plaza by Sta. Prisca. I guess we could have found a cheaper one, but it was reasonable and it was right there where the action was. We spent a lot of time on the plaza, people watching. The food was reasonably priced too, but I don't remember the name of the hotel. It has a swimming pool on the roof which made our daughter happy. Great silver shops and great artisan items. I think you'll love the place!
: I will be taking the bus from Aca to Taxco next week - would appreciate any tips, recommendations, favorite places..... Thanks in advance
: : Take a walk to all the churches, starting with a combi (VW van) up to Guadelupe and walk over to Ojeda, then down the hill to San Nicolas, San Augustine, over to Veracruz, Chavarrieta, past the Ex-Convento and back to Sana Prisca. Whew! : : take a look at these current Panoramas: : : http://www.digthatcrazyfarout.com/taxco/Taxco_Sepia_Panos2002.html
: : Cheapest good hotel is the THIRD floor of the Casa Grande or Posada Arellano in the market. Upscale - Los Arcos or San Javier should do, if you want a pool try Hotel Agua Escondida.
: : Great cheap food is available in the fondas, in the market.
: : Take a day trip to tha big Grutas de Cacahuamilpa, well worth the trip.
: : Cafe Sasha is the cool hippy nighttime hangout.
: : Buy most of your silver at the Saturday Tianguis. Much cheaper, but watch the quality.
: : Best Pizza in town is "Estelar" I love their Mini-pizza - 15pesos.
: : Pernel
: : Pernel
