Tampico motel

Last year we stayed at the Hotel San Antonio. It is on the south side of town but I believe it is before the bridge, but not too far. It was not difficult getting out of town. It has a secure parking. It was clean and OK for 1 night.
Dan
: Can anyone recomend a motel outside of Tampico that has secure parking.I would like to be on the south side of the city over the bridge.

: thank you
Dan,
My wife and I travel (drive) thru Mexico and Central America every year, and we've stopped at most of the less expensive hotels/motels and resturants from the Texas boarder to Costa Rica.
The motel we like to stay at in southern Tampico (5 miles south of the bridge) is a place called "El Coral". It will be on the right side of the road (route 180) as your heading south. It's 1/2 block off the main road, which makes for a quieter evening. The great thing about this motel is that they also own a nice resturant right on the main road in front of the motel, and across the street there is a gas station to fill-up before you head-out in the morning. Night life is interesting, as it is in all Mexican towns. Vendors of all sorts come out to sell thier wares to anyone who happens by - especally food vendors.
Can't go wrong for $20.00 a night.
I almost forgot to mention: The vast majority of hotels/motels in Mexico (expensive or inexpensive) have secure parking. Some even have roving patrols.
An even nicer place to stop for the night is a small city called Tuxpan.
Hope this helps,
Anthony
