Hola! First time poster. Have travel route based on an old post here with cities and toll crossings. Will review the map Leaving end of October with my dog and cat (and vet letters) -and brother driving - after 6 yrs.living in Chiapas. Will be leaving Mexico with the same old truck that I entered with .... Have Embassy travel alerts and was surprised to see Matamoros-Brownsville crossing among the alerts?? Can anyone give me hotels for the 3 night trip that would accept (well-behaved) animals. Need secure parking since truck is loaded. Since this is my goodbye to Mexico for awhile - any highlights along the way worth stopping for?? ... Can you buy Oaxaca rugs along the way (in Veracruz??)? We will plan to drive tolls except for excursions and stop overs. Drive early in the morning to no later than 5:00 ... Comments? Hopefully the rain will have stopped! Have been grateful to be in San Cristobal every day during my stay ...
