I'm sorry, I don't know of any casas or cabañas to rent, but I will mention the very nice Hotel Garza Canela, which is very comfortable and has one of the best restaurants on "The Mosquito and Jejenes Coast". (Based on a stay way back in the 90's.)

All generalities are suspect, including this one.

I was there last July and that is definitely the wrong time of year because of the mosquitos. The locals walk around town with a hand towel attempting to keep them at bay.

We stayed at the Hotel Hacienda Flamingos, probably the best in town and well worth it!!!

Hello all,

Based on a visit to Garza Canela in San Blas just 3 weeks ago as well as several visits over the past 5 years the restaurant there is rated 3 diamonds in my opinion. I still remember with pleasure a Christmas Eve Roast Duck dinner there some 4 years ago.

The only restaurant I have found better on the Nayarit coast is at a private, 6 star club-hotel north of Melaque.

But then to each tiger his own feed.

Hasta luego. jerezano

Perhaps I'm immune to the insects after all the bugbites I got in Florida, but we spent some time in San Blas in July and I absolutely loved it. It felt a little bit like the barrier island beaches where we first surfed.
