Help!! Plan to leave July 3rd for Queretaro,Xing at Laredo, As this is my first experience driving into Mexico any info would be appreciated, all paper work insurance ect is taken care of.
1 What is the best route to drive
2 How long is the drive
3 what is the best time to cross the border

Best route? It's not like you've got a great deal choice, IMHO. I-35 from San Antonio to Laredo because Highway 57 at Nvo. Laredo and takes you straight on to Queretaro. From Nvo. Laredo to Queretaro is just under 10 hours of straight driving time. Since this is your first experience driving in Mexico, you should plan on overnighting at a midpoint along the route.<p>Now, since you're planning on crossing over on the eve of a holiday and during the summer temps, I'd recommend a 4 a.m. crossing. Even earlier wouldn't be out of the question.
