Sailboat from Tennessee to Mazatlan

Can't Post |
A friend of mine wants to get his 35 foot sailboat (oversized on US roadways)
from Tennessee to Mazatlan. Does anyone have any suggestions? He doesn't want to take it through the Panama canal. He can get it trucked to San Diego for $6000 USD. So far he has the option to sail it down from San Diego, take it to Puerto Penasco and sail it down from there, truck it to the closest place on the Carribbean then sail it to Mexico somewhere and have the Mexicans truck it over to Mazatlan. Any ideas on this?
Thanks

I'm not the man,Valise Tudoran is the mans name.
I think someone at this site will know him.
http://www.whoi.edu/science/science.html
I think he is/was in Sth Cal.
All I know is,that the boat can be craned in or out at Manzanillo,at the railhead.
