Route Planner??

Looking for an detailed 'driving route planner' that covers Mexico.
I use "Mapquest" for any US or Canada trips, but nothing for Mexico.
Used 'Sanborn' triplogs last fall on our trip from Laredo to Manzanillo,
but several dead ends and errors. At a certain age, some of us need
a 'Dummies Guide' to get around....does anyone within these forums keep
a running/updated driving guide for this route?? How about one of you
famous posters start something?? Even just to Lakeside area would be great.
I guess the trick is to keep up to date with all the Mexican autopista
construction?? Thanks in advance!

I like the Guia Roji de Mexico y Estados Unidos de America. You can pick one up for $100 pesos at Sanborn's or similar. If none is close, navigate to www.guiaroji.com.mx<p>

I bought maps but one thing I always have with me is my trusty Garmin E-Map GPS system. They no longer seld them, but the new E-Trex series has base-maps that include the Mexican highways, and some of the major streets in larger Mexican cities. Check one of these out, I have seen them in some places for under $200. Save me many times:)
