Reasonable hotel room in Mexico City?

Can't Post | Private Reply
I have a doctors appointment in October in Mexico City. The appointment is at 7:30 pm so we will need to spend the night. The office is on Av.de las Palmas in Colonia Chapultepec.
Do any members know of a reasonably priced hotel, B & B in this area? We would prefer to keep the rate at 700 pesos or less.

Thanks for any help.

There are hundreds of paths up the mountain,
all leading in the same direction,
so it doesn't matter which path you take.
The only one wasting time is the one
who runs around and around the mountain,
telling everyone that his or her path is wrong.

I don't know of any Colonia Chapultepec, but I imagine your doctor's office is in the Bosque Chapultepec area.
(I've consulted my Guía Rojí maps of México, D.F., but haven't located the specific street.)

Assuming it's in the area of Chapultepec, you could stay at the Hotel Milan, in Colonia Roma Norte. http://www.hotelmilan.com.mx/html/hotel.html. We've stayed there on several occasions, and found it comfortable and priced at or below $500 pesos for two. It's not exactly close to Chapultepec, but a cab shouldn't cost you much more than $40 pesos. (If indeed, that's where the doctor is located.)

Here's Lonely Planet's list of suggested hotels in Mexico City:

I believe there's at least one medium priced hotel near the south side of Bosque Chapultepec. It's the one with the mini-zoo and the lions!
Yes; it's the Hotel Park Villa, and it IS in Colonia San Miguel Chapultepec. (Learn something new every day!)
However, its rates start at $720 pesos for a standard room. (Some hotels will give discounts if you pay in cash. It can't hurt to ask.)

Check the location map on their site and see if it meets your needs.
