We are planning a driving trip to Mexico and wonder if there are any restrictions regarding having a radar detector, scanner, and CB in the car crossing the border?

CB's are not allowed in Mexico. Military Only! But I never travel without one. I don't try to hide it or the LARGE antenna on top of my rig. I don't cover my 4 million candlepower "off road" lights. In all my years of going through Military check points and being stopped by local "Policia" (Police) for "Mordidas"(bites), no one has ever said a word about it.
: We are planning a driving trip to Mexico and wonder if there are any restrictions regarding having a radar detector, scanner, and CB in the car crossing the border?

David Where do you cross the border with your CB?
The consulate says a person has to have a 180 day permit for an American to use a CB in Mexico.
Also does anyone know about metal detectors in Mexico - taking across the border and using?
I am leaving next week and want to take both my CB and detector and don't have time to get a permit from the Mexican consulate. Any suggestions?
