Puerto Vallarta-Guanajuato-Xalapa

We are finally going to saddle up the old camper again after a 2 year hiatus and head over to the other coast, from Puerto Vallarta via GTO. I am hoping to take in Cuernavaca and Puebla on our whirlwind tour as I don't know how long it will be before we do this again, especially with the gov't looking to bring gas prices to par with the US by 2010? Any info you would like to share or advise regarding our itinerary would be most welcome.

Hi Isabel,

I can recommend either a family or a hotel in Guanajuato and a hotel in Puebla--all moderately priced with great food and parking. I also have a great place with parking and homemade food in San Miguel's center. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks you, yes I would be very interested. We are especially open to places large enough for our truck and camper to be parked even if we are staying in their accomodations. SM in particular is difficult to maneuver with the rig.

Isabel - a truck/camper will be almost impossible in Guanajuato. The Camino Real Hotel has a pay parking lot - we usually go there, drop off our vehicle, and take a cab into centro.

Thanks, I know we have a place there. We end up in the tunnels, not ideal....would love a little smart car, but alas cannot live in it!
