Before hitting Veracruz there is a 4 lane road to Minatitlan. Take this road all the way to Acayucan. In Acayucan take the road that goes across the Istmo the Tehuantepec to La Ventosa in
Oaxaca. At La Ventosa , take la costera to Arriaga
Tonala and Tapachula.
Do not drive at night. Do not take the short cut to Palomares. It is close to 1100 KMS. Roads to
Puebla- Acayucan and Arriaga-Tapachula are OK.
Acayucan-Arriaga were not in great shape when I drove there, but just drive slow. If you leave
early in the morning, it could be done in one day.
Saludos,
Juan

My partner swerved to avoid a pothole, the trailer hit it, flattened the tire, and broke the spring. We were able to eventually hobble in to the next town, theres a reason why this route has lots of welders and spring/tire repair shops!
