Point to Point Routes

A few years ago someone posted this handy Mexican website wherein one can create a trip, complete with interim places, and get 1) a 'zoom-able' map of the trip and 2) a complete listing of the 'towns/toll booths etc. along the way.... with kl/miles and toll costs. I think it bears posting again. NOTE: This website is not totally accurate as it does NOT contain all of the newer cuota.

Find it at: http://aplicaciones4.sct.gob.mx/...action=cmdEscogeRuta To get the English version, click on a link on that page.

I wish some one would supply the website that shows bacteria counts at various beaches around the Republic...

Conveniently before Semana Santa, some federal agency (Salud? Tourism?) reported that just about all the beach sites had water safe for vacationers' enjoyment. Am sure that assures all of us. Now if the beaches and national parks were only clean of trash and free of those hawking just about everything.

In order to supply the website, we have to find out if someone, anyone, actually samples the beaches for bacteria count.

According to the following consumer-oriented website, http://www.m-x.com.mx/...-alejandro-calvillo/ info on contaminated beaches is now held like a "state secret" on the federal level, with scant info coming from the relevant states. I have only seen feel good type info from tourism oriented sources.

Thanks RickS, This gives me an idea of how many paso's (856) it will cost me to get to PV. Good information to have so that I can get some as soon as I cross into Mexico.

Mexicanbill, get your pesos on the US side, just BEFORE you cross the border. There will be places where you can easily do that. Finding a bank or casa de cambio on the Mexican side can be a challenge.

There are a couple of places in Eagle Pass to get pesos. But actually it's not hard to find casa de cambio places on the street once in Piedras.
