Planned route from L.A. to Oaxacan coast

Can't Post |
ok I've been studying this site and my maps for quite awhile, and I seem to have a route figured out- First leg of the trip is from L.A. to Atolinga, Zacatecas, and after about a week there it's on to Oaxaca, with a little jog over to Morelia on the way (can't recall the reason, but my uncle wants to stop there) SO here is my planned route, I just checked this list and didn't find any conflicting info...(I might try that Santa Teresa,NM POE though...)the question marks indicate points where i can't quite tell how these roads connect...Oh, and this trip will be in February.
Thanks to anyone who can help. Post here or write me directly. Mil gracias!
I-10 through Tucson, El Paso

Ok I'm not so sure of all the Road #'s. My suggestion is to Buy a GOOD Road map of Mexico. You can order one online at ____ guiaroji.com.mx____ I would definetly suggest you get one. Takes out a lot of worries. Get the Atlas size. On your trip to Atolinga, follow the Talk from L.A. to Zacatecas on this fourum. You use the same road. And your trip to Atolinga from other people that I know that have made the same trip from Los Angeles to Tlatenango (which is 30 to 45 minutes of your destination) is approximate 29 Hours of Drive time. From Zacatecas Go south to Jerez (Don't know the road #) From there go south Aprrox 2 hours towards Guadalajara. You will reach Tlatenango and then proceed to Atolinga. Your questions I think will be answered If You get a good map. Sometimes people have good intentions but not recognize that there might be a better route. Good luck.

Thanks Jose- I had already checked my route against the postings you cited, and my map IS the one you suggested (Guia Roji atlas style book)- I'm going to check the couple of "muddy" spots on the corresponding local maps in the Lonely Planet Guide, and I'll continue to check here for info.
Thanks again.
: Ok I'm not so sure of all the Road #'s. My suggestion is to Buy a GOOD Road map of Mexico.
