New Hotel on far south side of San Luis Potosi

The last time we passed through SLP on one of our trips to and from Reynosa/McAllen, we noticed a new and very conveniently located hotel going up on the east side of 57 just past where the bypass cuts off of 57 headed north bound. This new place would save having to drive 10 miles into town just to sleep for a few hours.

Has anyone seen or stayed at this place or has a name for it?

I cannot tell you the name of this hotel on the bypass but can tell you unequivocally that what the inquirer refers to as the "ten mile into town" route is one of the best diversions you will ever take while driving from West Central Mexico to the United States and worth the ten minutes or so required to get to San Luis Centro rather than pressing on through poverty stricken desert to towns as interesting as a McDonalds in Salina, Kansas . There are several excellent hotels on the bypass-centro boulevard that are outstanding and reasonably priced and if one drives on into the historic center from there - an easy and worthwhile drive - one will find oneself in the midst of a beautiful historic center in an important and sophisticated Mexican urban setting with historic hotels and fine restaurants and expansive and ubitiquous pedestrian malls filled with local revelers almost every night and slow down, by God - you will be where you are going soon enough.

If you do this then the next morning you can have breakfast in fascinating Monterrey rather than plough on to butt-ugly Laredo.

DAMN! Nailed once again by the persistent Inspector Bournemouth. I never get away with anything. For your information she caught me first and erased yards of historic erudition that would otherwise have become of historic import.

I'm sure you're right and we'll go there at some point but on this trip we have a tight return schedule and would dearly love to find this place as it would cut a half hour off the driving time.
