I cannot tell you the name of this hotel on the bypass but can tell you unequivocally that what the inquirer refers to as the "ten mile into town" route is one of the best diversions you will ever take while driving from West Central Mexico to the United States and worth the ten minutes or so required to get to San Luis Centro rather than pressing on through poverty stricken desert to towns as interesting as a McDonalds in Salina, Kansas . There are several excellent hotels on the bypass-centro boulevard that are outstanding and reasonably priced and if one drives on into the historic center from there - an easy and worthwhile drive - one will find oneself in the midst of a beautiful historic center in an important and sophisticated Mexican urban setting with historic hotels and fine restaurants and expansive and ubitiquous pedestrian malls filled with local revelers almost every night and slow down, by God - you will be where you are going soon enough. If you do this then the next morning you can have breakfast in fascinating Monterrey rather than plough on to butt-ugly Laredo.
