The fastest way would be to take Hwy. 180D (toll road) from Cancun west to Kantunil where it ends. Continue straight ahead on old Hwy. 180 to the periferico (the loop around Merida) and turn left. Turn left again when you come to Hwy. 180 heading south. Go to Uman where you pick up Hwy. 261. Follow this to Uxmal. Driving time is about 4.5 hours.
Have a great trip.
Joyce
: Does anyone know how to get from Cancun to Uxmal by car? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The other directions are correct, but if you are not in a great hurry the free road runs appx. 1/4 mile away from the toll road in the same direction. The road is in good repair and has some very interesting villages along the way. The only thing to watch for is the topes(speed bumps) that are usually placed at the entrance and exit of each village, usually marked but not always, just count on them being there and slow down. One of our favorite sight seeing tours, take the extra time and stay overnight along the way if you have the extra time that is.
