Sad news.

Mexicana Airlines is ending their direct service from Portland to Guadalajara in August. Dang it......that was so very easy and convenient. The news release said that high fuel costs was the reason. The daily flights always appeared quite full - both directions??

I paid $4.45/gal for unleaded today. ($70.31usd to fill the old beast) I thought $4.00 was bad two weeks ago?

Be glad you don't live in San Diego, CA. Regular unleaded has been hovering between $4.59 - $4.65/gal and speculation is we'll hit $5/gal by 4th of July. I spent $31 yesterday to put a little under 7 gallons of gas in a Jetta.

But...being close to the border, San Diego has options and Pemex is reaping the benefit. Many folks living in San Diego's south county communities are crossing the border and buying gas at Mexican stations for about $2.65/gallon.
