Living in Mexico for a year

Can't Post |
I will be moving to Mexico for a year and I'm not quite sure what type of visa I will need. I don't really know what I will be doing- maybe working but only an unpaid internship and/or studying but not full time. I know to stay over 6 months I will need an FM3. What are the requirements to get this? Should I do this before I cross the border?
Anyone who can help- I really appreciate it.
Thanks a lot!

Have You Bothered Exploring This Website?

: I will be moving to Mexico for a year and I'm not quite sure what type of visa I will need.
Besides the discussion forums, this website contains a wealth of information. Strangely enough, there's even a section called "Immigration and Legal Issues" which addresses both visas (in the most comprehensive fashion I've found) AND your other question regarding what you can legally bring into the country.
AFTER you have read this section of the site you should consider posting your followup questions, if you still have any, to the appropriate section of the message forums, as this tends to generate a greater number of responses. Note that this particular section is called "On The Road Again In Mexico" Forum, and that the header for the forum states "This Forum is about about: Mexico's roads, routes, conditions, warnings, driving, trips and tips only. General Travel is in the General Forum."
