With the repair of a bridge in Ciudad Anahuac, reports are that limited road access has been re-established between Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo. For details (Spanish), try here, or here for the article's map (also Spanish) The initial priority will be to supply stores and markets in Nuevo Laredo with fresh produce, since supplies have been cut off for about a week. Tests are apparently being performed on the bridge to determine what weight limit should be enforced. The 20,000+ large trucks currently stranded in Nuevo Laredo are unlikely to benefit from the route via Ciudad Anahuac, and will have to wait until one of the major highways is reopened.
