Laredo to Patzcuaro, Mich

I am visiting in Austin, Texas, and will return home to Patzcuaro, Michoacan in late November. Instead of an overnight stay at Matehuala, I will need to stay in Saltillo and stop again in Queretaro. Does anyone know of pet-friendly motels at either place? I wish I could find places to stay that do not take me into the towns proper, but keep me near the highway.
