Insurance @ Columbia Crossing????

A while back I thought I read a post about crossing at the columbia bridge. As I recall it said something about " No insurance is available at this crossing" Can some one in the KNOW verify this.

Insurance @ Columbia Crossing????

I crossed at Columbia just 2 days ago. While the lines for import permits are non-existant and the people extremely civil, there is definitely *NOBODY* there selling Mexican insurance for people with U.S.-registered cars.<p>If you have a Mexican-registered vehicle and are crossing *INTO* the U.S., you can buy insurance at the Pemex station just as you turn off the road to go into the bridge area. When I asked where the nearest place was to buy Mexican insurance, the answer was "Nuevo Laredo". Thanks a lot! :-(<p>Buen viaje!
