Importing a motorcycle when you already have a car/truck here?

Can't Post |
Hi,
I'm living in Monterrey. I already did a temporary importation of my pickup. I'm wondering what the cheapest and/or best solution is for importing a motorcycle from the US. Anyone have experience with this?
I have a buddy that wants to sell me a bike cheap, and I think it'd be a better deal than I can get here, but I'd like to know what import taxes and/or fees would be, as well as any operational costs.. (A guess on insurance, too?)
thanks,
dave

My brother took one across the border last year. If you have a title you just add the bike to your vehicle papers. If it is not licensed like a motocross bike you can sometimes get it in without adding to your vehicle paperpwork but to be safe I would put it on your vehicle paperwork anyway so that you do not have hassles later. Of course if you do put it on your paperwork you will technically have to bring it back out every 6 months to be legal.
Now if you get a FM 3 visa you can put it on there and it is legal as long as your FM 3 is legal and you do not have to bring it out of mexico every 6 months.
: Hi,
: I'm living in Monterrey.
