If you are driving into Mexico.....Via Texas, from New Mexico, Colorado

I live in Texas. For a little over three years I lived and worked as a Park Ranger at Big Bend National Park Texas. I can help you with some detailed information on crossing into Mexico for a day, or for a longer duration.
There are faster ways to cross into Mexico with less hassle, of course this will depend on where you travel from. I've crossed into Mexico at almost every crossing in Texas. If you plan to cross into Mexico via Juarez at (El Paso Texas) or Nuevo Laredo at(Laredo Texas)....DON'T,
Don't do it.
It is far better to cross either at Eagle Pass Texas, into Piedras Negras, Mexico or Del Rio Texas, into Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. Now , when you are planning to cross over into Mexico at El Paso Texas, It is much faster via any ground mode of transportation (except a horse) to cross at Presidio Texas into Ojinaga Mexico. This particular route is a good driving route. The road conditions are fine for driving south to the city of Chihuahua Mexico. The Ojinaga crossing is good because everything you need such as to obtain you passport papers, vehicle passes (etc),are located just 100 feet after the crossing. There are never any long waiting lines, it takes less that twenty minutes in most cases. This is the same for Ciudad Acuna and Piedras Mexico crossings.
So, I hope this will help some of you who are considering driving into the beautiful country of Mexico. If you have any detailed questions regarding anything I've mentioned here, or Big Bend National Park, I will be glad to help answer any. You may e-mail me at gdebaun@earthlink.net
Thank You and good travels.
Greg

Greg )Gregg; (gdebaun@earthlink.net ):
Tommy A. and I are leaving FRI. 10/11 evening; trailering a couple of M/C's , (From Memphis, TN), via Houston #59 or, thru Dallas.
Were planning to leave PU & Trlr. at Laredo somewhere, then RIDE: from Laredo and tour around in MEX. 5 days. I used to cross at Laredo in late 1970's.
Big Bend is lot's further from us here but, I crossed at Presidio in 2000, minimal hassel.
Read your POST, "DON'T". Is there extra hassels, time delays, etc.
I read, Laredo is a 24 hour operation; (we could process at a weee hour if beneficial).
You suggestions:___________?
