Hotels that welcome dogs

For some reason, I can't get the Gringo Dog website to update info about a hotel in Puebla, so thought I would post it here.

The Hotel Los Campestres Sauces is now El Ambassador.....we had a terrible time finding it one night because of this name change.......another tip that we overlooked!!!! - be sure you are on the correct freeway....there are 2 major ones there. The address on Gringo Dog is correct and once on the correct hiway, it is fairly easy to locate......lovely grounds but they
extracted $100 mx for each dog - a fee, not a deposit. Kind of worn and tired but clean....breakfast not served until 9 am - too late for us because we like to be well on the road by then.

This is a new listing not on the website:

On the east side of Guadalajara, at the La Barca exit, is a motel that also takes dogs.....Hotel Kristal..... We had no reservation but they gave us a ground floor room, with a king bed, table & chairs, sofa, TV, covered parking ...clean but in need of re-furbishing. The cost was only $390 mx.

The restaurant was not open but they ordered in a pizza for us & brought it right to the door. They were very accommodating.

Try the new La Quinta hotel in Puebla. You will be gladly surprised by the hotel and the cost.

I'm sure it is lovely but way too rich for my purse!!!!

Has anyone heard what is happening with Gringo Dog? It is a lot of work to keep up such a website and I just want them to know how much they are appreciated.

The Gringodog website is still up and running. I believe it's run by Jeanette, who can likely be contacted through the site.

There is a campestre las sauces in the town where the arco norte starts going North. I called them once and they told me they rented cabins and accepted dogs but that is was very rustic and they recommended that we bring sheets, blankets and pillows. It was a while ago so it may have changed but th eplace looked really neat especially for dogs, we ended not staying there and staying in Michoacan so we never ssschecked it out. That was it for reasonnable place around Puebla.
There is a motel with gas station that looks very deccent past the vw going north. It is bright yellow, we keep thinking we will try it one day and keep staying in Orizaba but I would think that would be an option. Unfortunately it is on the way north. It is in or near the town that had the big gas blow up a couple of years ago.
