Help! My US driver's License is about to Expire

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi everyone. Thank you ahead for any information you can give me. My driver's license (california) expires March 26th. I have my car down here and live her permanently. Calif says I would have to go there to get a new CA license, so I would rather not do that...much too expensive for me. What do I do? Any ideas? I read a post saying that even if I have a Mexican license (which I do not at the moment), I would still need to have a valid US license. Did I understand that correctly?

I am expecting to go to the border in April by bus to meet a friend and drive down with her. Is it easy to get a license in El Paso or somewhere like that? Would the dmv in Tx mail a license to my postal box in Laredo? (Ca. will not mail to a po box).

I am in San Miguel de Allende, GTO, should that be of importance in your advice.

Sort of in a panic,

Sharyn

That is absolutely NOT true. A Mexican license will meet all your needs for driving in México or the USA.
